What are the best water bottles? On my last hiking trip, my trusty Sigg replica water bottle finally decided to pack it in. I bought it a few years earlier from the Thamel tourist area of Kathmandu and the Sigg logo rubbed off after 2 days. The bottle itself seemed to be decent quality and did its job quite well. After returning I decided it was time to buy a new water bottle, I like to travel and hike regularly so wanted to get something that would last, as I usually do I spent hours and hours researching different models, brands and features.
I have created the following water bottle comparison and buying guide to save you having to do the same research I did. I have looked at water bottles from different brands, materials, sizes and shapes and found what I believe are the best bottles you can buy online in 2022.

The CamelBak eddy is currently our favorite plastic water bottle from the ones we reviewed. Completely redesigned it features a flip top bite valve and internal straw that lets you sip easily on while on the go. The bite valve is also replaceable and compatible with other CamelBak bottles extending the life span of the water bottle. We found that the valve allowed a good flow of water while remaining spill free.
The eddy includes a loop handle which can be connected to most bags using a carabiner and it also snugly fits inside the bottle holders on most backpacks and day packs. The water bottle weighs 5.4 oz / 153 g and light enough to carry while backpacking or hiking. The capacity of this bottle is 750ml or 25oz which will keep you hydrated for a few hours between refills.
The eddy is dishwasher proof making it easy to clean while CamelBak recommend the occasional deep clean using soap or mild bleach. We found the straw can get a bit dirty over time so it is a good idea to maintain over the course of its life.
Overall we think this is a fantastic plastic water bottle and we recommend it for all travelers, if you are doing extreme backpacking then you may want to look at the version with a larger capacity.
